drink… bothan bar…
The Ice Factor cafe has been a firm favourite with the 185,000 visitors who have flocked to the centre since we opened in December 2003.
Freshly cooked full highland breakfasts, vegetarian dishes, snack and lunch menus, home baking allied with a wide variety of speciality coffees and fruit teas have proven firm favourites. But with a steady stream of visitors, the West Highland Way on our doorstep and a Brewery next door our next development was inevitable…

Building on the success of Stuart and Katarina's award winning food we invested heavily in building a new bar and bistro facility, specifically designed with the outdoor community in mind (our visitors include Paddlers, Bikers, Walkers, Climbers, Mountaineers and local families looking for a great place to eat). Scottish Oak and Ballachulish Slate floors, suede and leather 'fester' couches and a wood burning stove create a wonderfully relaxed, friendly and informal bistro.
The bar has commanding views of the main climbing areas as well as stunning views of the Mamores and Loch Leven. So relax, pull up a chair, enjoy some great food and drink and watch the world go by.
The menu has been designed with our clients and visitors in mind serving locally sourced and freshly prepared food.
A wide range of quality accommodation is available including Campsites, Self Catering Chalets, Bunkhouses, B&B's and Hotels - all within staggering distance of the centre! Please see our accommodation page for a list of our preferred suppliers (friends and neighbours who try particularly hard to provide a great service to the outdoor community).
So, whether you are looking for a chilled out dining experience, a vibrant hooly or just a place to chew the fat after being washed off the hill, you can be assured of the warm, highland welcome at Bothan. Take a seat...
