Features
The fabric used makes these packs unique - it's a silicon finished, PU coated ripstop nylon, and water beads off - the perfect rucsack material! The base is toughened Cordura. The zips are all laser-cut, and water resistant. The back systems are fully adjustable.
Down to the nitty gritty then, how do they perform? The hip belts on both packs are very stiff and do not deform under heavy loads. The water resistant fabric works very well - we can't believe no-one's used it before on packs! The weight is fantastic - 1.46kg for the 40 litre, and 1.71kg for the 50 litre. Carrying heavy loads is a breeze - my first outing was a wet 22 miles around Ben Alder with a full 50 litres and maybe ten kilos of gear. I couldn't fault it then, and I still can't. For backpacking, they both have side compression straps, and elasticated wand pockets - easy to stash sleeping mat/tent on the outside. The most unbelievable factor is the price though - the green 40 litre pack is just £49.99, while the black and red 50 litre pack is just £59.99
