About Greig Taylor :

Powerful frontman Greig Taylor is one of Scotland’s hardest working musicians and one of the UK’s finest male vocalists, very much in the mould of powerful rock/soul singers such as Joe Cocker, Paul Rodgers of Free and has even been compared to Jim Morrison of the Doors. He built a large following during his time as the lead singer and co-songwriter with GT’s Boos Band, who in 2016 gained nationally recognised appearances on the acclaimed BBC Four Television documentary ‘UK’s Best Part Time Band’ featuring Midge Ure as the band’s mentor, and his songs featured on DJ Paul Jones’ eponymous BBC Radio 2 show.

GT has built his career mainly within the blues scene in the UK and was nominated in the 2014 Brtitish Blues Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year, whilst writing and releasing two highly acclaimed blues albums with guitarist John Boos with the GT’s Boos Band. A short but successful stint in Glasgow band Brian Rawson Band soon followed and his current acoustic blues act The Blind Lemon Gators are already beginning to make waves, performing at venues such as Stirling’s Tolbooth Theatre in 2018.

GT has been in the studio recently recording his eagerly awaited debut solo album, set for release in 2018 and it is on this album which saw him team up with former Blues ‘N Trouble and Maggie Bell guitarist Sandy Tweeddale to record a track together. Greig has since invited Sandy on board as part of his big blues band project, the Greig Taylor Blues Combo, who are set to take the blues world by storm in 2018, with plans to write an album of new material and accompanying tour.

Recently, GT recorded and released a charity single in aid of SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). The song is a stunning and uplifting reworking of the Bruce Springsteen song ‘Dancing in the Dark’ and has been mastered at Abbey Road Studios by world class Mastering Engineer Miles Showell, who has worked his magic on major works by The Beatles, Amy Winehouse, Marvin Gaye, Queen and many more amazing artists. The song was launched at a sell out show at Glasgow’s Oran Mor venue.
