Favourite Climb

So my favourite easy climb locally is one of the Classic Rock climbs on Buchaille Etive Mor. January Jigsaw goes at the grade of severe and is high up on the Rannoch Wall it is everything an easy mountain rock climb should be with good holds and protection in exposed situations with a fantastic atmosphere and views on really great rock.

Find out more about this climb on UK Cimbing’s website.

My favourite hard rock climb is Return of the Jedi at Ardnamurchan, great exposed and run out slab climbing on amazing rock with great friction at the grade of E2.

Favourite Munro

My Favourite Munro, is Buchaille Etive Mor, it is a stunning looking and iconic mountain, with an amazing variety of walking, scrambling, rock climbing and winter climbing. The standard walking route takes you through imposing mountain scenery on a tough mountain path with a great outlook.

Favourite Local Camping Spot

My favourite camping spot locally is a little spot on the coast near Ardnamurchan point, unfortunately the exact location is a secret!

Favourite Local Camping Spot

Generally I have camped in amazing places all over the world but Camp 1 on Ama Dablam in the Nepali Himalaya at about 5700m perched on a knife edge ridge really stands out. Amazing views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse and the Khumbu valley all the while camped in the most beautiful location imaginable.

Favourite Bothy

My favourite bothy is Guirdil on the west coast of the Isle of Rum. It is right on the beach with incredible views out to canna and the outer Hebrides.
