Ice factor reopens

We have introduced some new rules and procedures to keep our team, our visitors and our community safe. We have been following the industry news and guidance and are proud to have met or exceeded these throughout the centre. As such we have been awarded the ‘Good To Go’ mark by Visit Scotland and ask that you join us in playing our part to keep everyone safe.

Making a booking

Please book your activity online if you can. This is to minimise contact with our team and other visitors in the centre. It also allows our team to work through the backlog of previous bookings and communications while we were closed.

If you are struggling to book online or need advice, we are here to help, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01855 831 100 if you need assistance.

If you are a member you may book online but you will be asked for ID on check-in at the centre and requested to pay the difference should you be in breach of the membership program (i.e. booking a member pass when not a member or booking multiple passes for others who are not members, etc).

Track and Trace

We have a digital Track and Trace form which you will be asked to complete via a QR code. You can find these in the centre and only take a couple of minutes to complete.

Track and Trace is mandatory as per the government guidelines and will be required to use our facilities. If you need help, our team are here to assist you.

Masks will be mandatory throughout our centre at all times. Exceptions to this will be when your food arrives and you are eating/drinking and when you are physically climbing on our walls. Masks will be required when belaying on the rock walls and/or climbing in the ice wall.

Should you be medically exempt from wearing a mask, we ask that you register this with evidence of the exemption at reception. Your details will be stored at reception securely so you will only need to do this once on your first visit to us.

We will be operating a strict ‘no mask, no stay’ policy which our team will enforce throughout the centre so please come with your mask and wear it throughout your visit as no refunds will be processed should you be asked to leave for breach of the new procedures.

Masks are not required when completing the Aerial Adventure Course but we ask that they are worn when interacting with our instructors.

Social Distancing

Please give 2m social distancing throughout our centre with the exception of the café area in which 1m distancing will apply.

Centre Zones and Capacity

  • Ice Wall: 8 Climbers
  • Bouldering Room: 7 Climbers
  • Main Bay & Training Wall: 20 Climbers
  • Aerial Adventure Course: 9 Brave Souls

Adult Lessons will be limited to 2 households as per the guidelines.

Cleaning & Hand Sanitisation

We will be operating an intensive cleaning routine in the centre but we ask that you also use the sanitisation stations before entering and throughout your visit.

When should you sanitise your hands?

  • On arrival at the centre
  • Before and after entering the climbing zones
  • On entry and exit from the cafe zone
  • Before touching our equipment

We have also made cleaning wipes available for you in our cafe and bathrooms should you wish to clean your area before/after use. Our team will be operating on the cleaning schedule but we understand you may prefer to also do so yourself.

We also ask that a degree of common sense is used e.g. please don’t pull your glove off with your teeth then open a door with it (we’ve all done it but these are different times).

Centre Equipment

We have taken great care to ensure our kit is sanitised correctly in order to ensure the safety of our team and our customers.

Equipment should be returned to the designated dump bin after use (our team will show you where). It is then cleaned if it is a hard item or steamed if it is a fabric item. Fabric items are then further stored in our hot room at high temperatures overnight to further safeguard users.

The Cafe

We ask that you follow the new proceedures below

  • Only sit at a table with a menu. This is to ensure your table has been sanitised before you sit at it.
  • Our capacity is the number of tables available on the ground floor and mezzanine, if there are no tables please wait for one to become available, we are at capacity.
  • Please view the menu on your table and bring it with you to order at the counter (only one person per table please)
  • Our team will take your menu for cleaning and place your order
  • Please pay by card where possible
  • Please wear a mask at all times unless you are eating
  • Please keep 1m distance at all times
